Hallucinations and beyond - the case for AI Literacy

In an era where artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming increasingly prevalent and transforming our world, it is crucial to develop an understanding of its functioning and impacts. This talk highlights some challenges in dealing with AI, such as hallucinations, to emphasize the importance of AI literacy. By promoting AI literacy, we can not only minimize the risks associated with using AI but also fully exploit its opportunities and potentials. Using examples from various application domains, it is explained why AI literacy is indispensable for ensuring an informed and responsible use of AI.
